How is climbing going for you? Are you confident in your belay technique? What are your goals for this unit? What do I need to do to help you accomplish your goals during this unit? Name all memebers of your group.
My climbing group is Laila, Elisa, Alexa, Frank, and Sammy.
Climbing is great! I've gotten to the top in the walls I've tried so far; it's an exhilarating experience. I'm very confident in my belay technique. It seems like I had to take time to get used to it at first, but it feels pretty natural now. My goal is to make it to the top of every wall, and try to complete any additional challenges you have to offer at that height! I guess the only help I need with this is some words of encouragement when I'm up there; the rest is up to me!
My climbing group is Tako, Yoon, Sean, Aisha, and Lauren.
I like climbing, I just get really nervous though. My belaying is great, I caught Lauren when she was up at the top and didn't tell me she was going to fall. However, my climbing could improve. I get really nervous and freak out about halfway to the top. My group is really encouraging and they help me out when I start to get shaky, but I still don't have the courage to go past the halfway mark. If I were to progressively get myself higher and higher past the halfway mark, I would be happy. I guess that would be my goal. It's hard for me, it's really nerve-wracking, but I'm just glad I have such an encouraging group to help me gain courage.
Ugh I just typed this and it erased but my group is laila. James. Sammy. Elisa. And frank. I like to climb but it hurts my back. That's okay my back always hurts. What hurts me really bad are the ropes, I cab barley move after those till the next day. Climbing is good teamwork but a weeek of yoga wouldn't kill anyone, infact, I think its great for everyone. Then the week after that we should meditate. That's always fun. I promise I wouldn't fall asleep. I hope I don't die at devils lake. Climbing and all physical activity hurt my back so i dkbt eeally do fitness days.I would get a doctors note but that's not going to help when we go on the feild trip! Anyways, it is pretty fun to climb. Alexa egan
My group is Mike, Mallon, Anushka, Lauren, and Anthony. So far for the pace the class is going Id say im right on track and completely comfortable with climbing. The belay technique took a while to get used to but I think I finally have the jist of it. I don't really have many goals. Mainly just accomplish as much as I can in the time allotted. Kiersten
With such great people as Annie, Duncan, Ivy, Alice, and Sara, I was climbing in a very supportive environment, which was good, because I am currently having a very frustrating time with climbing so far. You get as far as being able to graze the bell, but the top is just out of your reach, and God help you if you look down. I want to ring that bell. -Patrick
my group is james, laila, alexa, sammy and frank. i think that climbing is going great and i feel good about my belaying skills. for me to accomplish my goal on reaching the top of most walls is words of encouragement and help from my group on what my next step would be. Elisa
Climbing is going great. I am very proud of my entire group. If it was not for them, I defiantly would not feel as comfortable as I do when jumping off things. They are all excellent knot tiers! The first and only time so far jumping off the ceiling was crazy. My goal is to get to the point to where I dont feel like I am going to pass out after the jump. My group consists of Kiersten, Mike, Nushi, Lauren, and Anthony. Oh yea and myself. See Ya'll tomorrow! -Mike Mallon
My group is Alexa, Elisa, Frank, Leila, and James. Climbing so far is pretty fun. I feel safe within my group and am happy that they all put up with my terrible climbing skills. Admittedly, I am a pretty terrible climber because I'm extremely averse to heights and so I get this gut-wrenching feeling whenever I climb distances higher than, well, six feet. You just have to keep on going though and not look down. Looking down will kill you. On that note, I will probably never be able to jump down from the ceiling beam :'D -SLevey
I like climbing, I am somewhat confident in my belay team but I did have to remind them to pay attention when I was belaying and when I was climbing. I feel ok with my technique but doing it my self and when I am belaying are different. To jump from the rafters. Nothing. Alex, Emma, Sharron, Julia
climbing is going good for me. I enjoy it and i trust my group completely. I've been missing a lot of school and climbing time so my goal is to make up for it when i am in class by trying my best.
